ocdea terms of engagement

Domestic Energy Rating assessments are prepared in accordance with the Building Regulations 2013 Parts L1a and L1b together with conventions contained in SAP 2012 published by DEFRA for SAP version 9.92 dated Feb 2014.

Client Responsibility
It is the responsibility of the client to provide, in a timely manner, the required information to enable the On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) to carry out the Energy Rating assessment.
The Domestic Energy Rating assessments are prepared by the OCDEA using the information submitted by Clients and it is the Client’s duty to ascertain, from the resultant reports, the correct input information has been used

OCDEA responsibilities
It is the responsibility of the OCDEA to prepare the Energy Rating assessments with: software issued under licence as approved by the Secretary of State (indicated by the use of the SAP logo); to be qualified by being trained, tested and examined by approved persons; to be regularly monitored by National Agencies which operates the National Domestic Energy Rating quality assured scheme recognised by the British Standards Institute.

OCDEA undertake Energy Rating assessments with reasonable care, skill and diligence and accept responsibility for their implementation of the rating process however; no liability is accepted for any errors arising based on the assessment. Under the Building Regulations it is the responsibility of the Builder to ensure that the project meets the required standards.

It should be noted that Energy Rating assessments are based upon information supplied to the OCDEA and are in no manner an endorsement of a particular product or system. It is for the Client to make that judgement.

Concerns and/or complaints, if and when they arise, will be dealt with courteously and with haste.

Rating Calculations are based upon four stages
Design Draft, Design Final, As-Built Draft and As-Built Final

Fees quoted will become payable upon presentation of the relevant stage reports and shall be settled by the Client, in full, within 14 days of the date of the invoice. Additional fees may, in some cases, be payable however; no works will be undertaken unless we have client agreement
