Code level 3 bungalow in Pagham

We are currently working with a Bosham based, climate neutral, architectural practice More Studio to ensure a new build bungalow meets Code level 3. This is being achieved by using highly efficient Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs) and a log burning stove as the source of space and water heating. All 16 criteria for LIfe Time Homes are to be incorporated.

SIPs are prefabricated to ensure structural integrity. The individual components of the SIP: Oriented Strand Board (OSB); and Polyurethane insulation do not, in themselves, have sufficient structural strength however; when bonded together to form a panel have similar structural properties to cement blocks. They also are highly efficient inulators and having a high wood component are environmentally friendly

Internally the SIPS panels are covered with plasterboard and plaster whilst externally wood claddingand slate tiles are to be used
